Kelvion is one of the leading global manufacturers of heat exchangers. They have been providing solutions for almost every industrial application imaginable since the 1920s, specialising in customised solutions suitable for extreme environmental conditions.
The features and benefits of their core technologies, Plate Heat Exchangers (PHE), can be complex to explain using only conventional visual media such as video or imagery.
As such, Kelvion was searching for a more easy-to-understand, interactive, and comprehensive manner of presenting their products to a broad public.
About the project
MRstudios created the PHE Studio for Kelvion – a new generation dynamic and interactive 3D web platform that can be shaped for different exhibitions, events or client meetings. The web application showcases Kelvion’s extensive range of Plate Heat Exchangers in all their glory. Upon accessing the web application, the user is able to choose between three product types, as well as a “Help me choose” option, and the possibility to choose either the English or German language.
Highly detailed products and intuitive control
Clicking on any of the three product types will allow the user to explore each of the product types in depth. The interactive, photorealistic 3D models of the products and their features can be explored using either intuitive gestures on a touch screen or using cursor control devices like a mouse. In the main menu, users can find detailed information such as product specifications, technologies used, and locate products worldwide.
Easy-to-use product configurator
The “Help me choose” option guides the user to a straightforward selection configurator, where users can indicate their preferences in terms of thermal presets, as well as input criteria such as volume flow, heat duty, and connection size. Based on the preferences indicated, the selection software will automatically suggest the best product for the user’s criteria. Following which, the user can directly enter their webshop via a button to buy the chosen product.
Through the PHE Studio, the entire experience of Kelvion’s range of Plate Heat Exchangers is made available to anyone, anywhere, via just a URL. The platform is a powerful tool that helps Kelvion stand out from its competitors, helps customers understand their products more easily, and helps them sell better overall.
