About the client

ZIEHL-ABEGG is a German manufacturer of fans for ventilation and air conditioning applications, as well as drive technology for elevators and motors with matching control technology.

In the midst of a manufacturing talent shortage, the company was looking for exciting new technologies to boost their employer brand image. They wanted to make a career in the industrial sector and at ZIEHL-ABEGG seem more exciting, and specifically, attract technical students between the ages of 16 and 25.

About the project

The solution was the ZA-vr/edu Virtual Reality (VR) app. To interest the more youthful audience, MRstudios proposed to incorporate the Oculus Quest VR headset. This would make the introduction to the industry and ZIEHL-ABEGG more fun and exciting while keeping its informative nature.

Close-to-reality experience

ZA-vr/edu takes the user on an interactive and immersive journey through ZIEHL-ABEGG’s Solution Center, Training Center, and Brand Experience Center. While wearing the glasses and using the controllers, the user experiences the company’s virtual premises as if they would be physically there. The user can observe products, learn about the company’s history, and even play a game where they try and assemble different ZIEHL-ABEGG fans to unlock new levels and information about the fans.

For educational purposes and beyond

Since its release, the ZA-vr/edu app has undergone updates and expansions so it can be used for various other purposes in other departments. The app was also used in the training of new hires, and for marketing and sales. Due to its highly interactive and immersive nature, the app is also a useful addition to exhibitions and trade shows, for example.
